Our new Economic Strategy was approved as part of the Councils Major Policy Framework in January 2025. It outlines a clear vision and set of priorities which will support the sustainable growth of our economy for the benefit of our residents and our businesses in alignment with the Plan for Babergh and the Mid Suffolk Plan adopted by the Council in 2024
Broadband and digital connectivity are vital to the success of most businesses. Project Gigabit and Better Broadband for Suffolk are two schemes which have been vital in enabling future communications for economic growth in our area.
Both Councils are working with partners across the county and region towards making the county of Suffolk net zero by 2030. We are also working to support our communities, businesses, and residents to work towards achieving net zero.
These strong foundations support the Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils to help businesses across both districts to grow and prosper. We are passionate about the success of business in our area.
