What’s Next for Stowmarket

An event showcasing a range of local projects

In September 2022, the Stowmarket Vision group hosted an event called What’s Next for Stowmarket?, where they showcased a range of local projects. 338 people were in attendance overall.

The event, which took place at the John Peel Centre in the town centre, was open to all residents, business owners, and visitors of the town. It provided them with the opportunity to learn more about the programme from key partners – as well as information about new projects and plans.

Partners involved in the Vision group coordinated the event. The group aims to work collaboratively on projects that contribute toward the economic growth and development of the town.

After the event, we invited members of the public to deliver feedback about the Vision programme via an online form. A summary of this feedback will be published here soon.

Projects showcased at the event included:

  • Stowmarket Vision
  • Sports, health, education and leisure facilities (SHELF)
  • Gateway 14
  • Old Middle School Housing Development
  • Creative wayfinding and placemaking
  • Innovation Labs
  • Food Museum
  • John Peel Centre and 11 Market Place
  • Old Fox Yard Design Quarter
  • Stowmarket Culture Group
  • Stowmarket Town Council
  • Virtual High Street

A feedback survey was open during the event and for 8 weeks after to gather community views on the Stowmarket projects and Vision work. A copy of the feedback summary is available here: What’s next for Stowmarket survey results 2022
