Community Fun Days
We are excited to be planning this year’s Community Fun Days. After the success of last year’s events, we are hosting 4 this year across Babergh and Mid Suffolk during the summer holidays.

For those who may not have been involved previously, the fun days serve as events which bring the community together and involve fun family activities and various information stalls. They are open to all families but are particularly aimed at providing support for those on lowest incomes, with all activities being provided to families for free. The aim of the Community Fun Days is to offer a fun space for families to come together, enjoy a picnic, and for the children to get involved in some fun, free activities.
Your stall at local family fun day
They will also help raise awareness and offer support to families on issues such as, cost of living support, fuel poverty, housing issues, health and wellbeing including mental health, and encouraging sustainability. We’d like the days to be as inclusive as possible, creating an informal space where families can have fun and engage in activities, whilst also being able to raise issues with the right agencies, etc.
The events are being funded through a couple of means, including the Holiday Activity and Food Programme (HAF), the government led national initiative to support children and families on the lowest incomes during the school holidays.
The dates and locations are:
- Monday 21st July at Sudbury, Belle Vue Park
- Tuesday 22nd July at Hadleigh, East House Meadow
- Thursday 24th July at Thurston, New Green Community Centre
- Monday 28th July at Stowmarket Recreation Ground
We anticipate the events will run from 10am – 2pm. Agencies and stalls will be able to set up from 8:30am. Take down will be from 2pm onwards.
