EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES – 2024
Take some early summer inspiration from the upcoming events around Babergh and MidSuffolk…
APRIL
5th – 7th April Spring Opera Gala at Barrandov Opera – possibly Britain’s smallest and most intimate opera house located nr. Needham Market
23rd March – 1st April Fete du Printemps at the Boule-in, Bildeston – A vibrant shopping experience capturing the essence of French lifestyle with French antiques and collectables sourced directly from Provence.
28th April & 5th May – Visit the usually private Haughley Park House and enjoy a stroll through the estate, see the stunning bluebell displays and beautifully landscaped gardens around the manor house. Open on just the last Sunday in April and the first Sunday in May each year.
MAY
Suffolk Walking Festival – The festival takes place every May and celebrates Suffolk’s natural landscapes and built heritage with guided walks in every corner of the county
4th-6th May Jimmy’s Spring Farmers Market – celebrate the arrival of Spring with over 100 stallholders from East Anglia.
11th – 12th Weird and Wonderful Wood Festival, Haughley Park
Winning Best Festival in Suffolk two years running, this is a friendly, relaxed and extraordinary event with something for all the family. Fantastic creations, street entertainers, music and delicious refreshments.
17th – 19th East Anglian Storytelling Festival
Festival goers will be able to enjoy the picturesque surroundings of the Food Museum, Stowmarket while they listen to stories told live, mouth to mouth, heart to heart, rediscover an ancient folk tradition and find out that nobody is too old to enjoy a good story.
18th Hadleigh Show 2024 is the 185th Hadleigh Show.
25th – 26th Lee Stock at Melford Hall – Lee Stock is a charity based music festival in memory of local musician Lee Dunford, with all proceeds donated to the Willow Foundation and other local causes.
JUNE
1st Hidden Gardens and Market – Hadleigh. As part of the Hadleigh Hidden Gardens event the market place in Hadleigh will be filled with a selection of plants, flowers, local food and drink, handmade crafts and delicious Street Food.
6th – 9th Alive and VDubbin at Haughley Park
Alive & V-Dubbin is planned, organised and run by a dedicated team of members from Suffolk Bugrs VW Club. The affordable, family-friendly festival offers day entry or weekend camping tickets, with live music, games, workshops and much, much more on offer throughout the weekend.
8th – 16th The Great Big Green Week is the UKs biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

20th Suffolk Day Since 2016 the longest day of the year has been acknowledged as ‘Suffolk Day’ when residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the culture and creativity across the county.
