Butchers Cottage, Lavenham
Butchers Cottage is a beautiful and well-equipped holiday cottage in the medieval village of Lavenham.
This cosy self-catering accommodation is one of a row of cottages in Water Street and has been described as being warm in winter and cool in summer. Situated within easy walking distance of all the amenities in Lavenham, Butchers Cottage regularly welcomes guests for their second, third and even fourth visits.
Redecorated throughout in 2017, the large, beamed living room with electric woodburner in the inglenook fireplace and the good-sized kitchen, are larger than you might expect from the outside of this seemingly compact property. There is also a downstairs toilet and a small southern facing garden.
Upstairs the two bedrooms sleep three guests in a double and a single bedroom and the bathroom has a toilet and an over-bath shower.
Butchers Cottage benefits from free Wi-Fi and an off-road parking space on The Lavenham Press forecourt (next door) when space permits (which it does usually!)
Lavenham has a variety of pubs and restaurants, art galleries and antiques shops but it also has the benefits of an excellent butcher, a well-stocked pharmacy, a charming grocer and (unusually) two Co-op stores!
Lavenham is popular with visitors wanting to visit the market towns of Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and Newmarket and is an easy drive to Cambridge, Ipswich and the Suffolk Heritage Coast, which includes Southwold and Aldeburgh.
The nearby villages of Long Melford, Kersey, Cavendish and Clare to the west, are as pretty as East Bergholt and Dedham in Constable Country to the south.
This cosy self-catering holiday cottage in Lavenham has one double and one single bedroom and sleeps three people.
