Green Skills Summit for High School students across Babergh and Mid Suffolk in Autumn 2024, hosted by Ipswich High School.
Event Details
The Conference will be run by Interclimate, a registered charity with a mission to inspire young people in the UK to become leaders and advocates for action on climate change. As a result of this conference, we hope to focus on engaging with young people from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds and existing attitudes towards climate change, connecting the global reality of climate change and its effects, with opportunities for local action and sustainable career choices.
The aims of ICN’s conferences – developed and delivered by the same core team for over ten years – are to bring the critical ‘real world’ climate debate to life, enhance critical thinking for young participants and inspire student-led action. The intention here is to bring together around 60-70 students from interested schools to join a model COP29.
Teams will represent around 16 nations as at COP29 in Azerbaijan (planned for November 2024) particularly in ‘Global Negotiations’ before the conference turns to a
focus on local climate action and schools’ engagement towards Net Zero.
