Weird and Wonderful Wood in Suffolk

The wonderfully Weird and Wonderful Wood event in Haughley Park near Stowmarket takes place over the weekend of the 13th and 14th May this year.

Hugely entertaining, with a relaxed and happy vibe, this specialist craft event celebrates all things relating to wood, with displays of wood turning, chainsaw carving, musical instrument making and so much more.

As well as displays of skill and creativity, there are also workshops for people to learn their own crafting skills. Visitors can learn to wittle a spoon, make a gypsy flower or make their own paper and there is plenty of musical entertainment, wood-related craft stalls, family entertainment (‘spontaneous happenings’) and local food and drink is also on offer.

This popular annual event has a family-friendly feel to it and there is so much for everyone to try out: archery, building dens, climbing trees, or you could opt to just sit in a shady corner, Pimms in hand, and watch the colourful world of Weird and Wonderful Wood go by.
