The Tudor Barn, Milden

The Tudor barn provides an unusual location, off the beaten track on a working farm, for a large group of friends, families, walkers, cyclists, civilised hens or re-enactors to get together in spacious, beautiful, ancient and unspoiled surroundings, amidst our sensitively farmed landscape. At Milden you can walk, cycle, hug trees, pond dip, read, lie about, dress up in Tudor costumes, eat and be merry in 16th - or 21st - century style.

The barn sleeps one large group of up to 22 (we welcome smaller groups midweek). The barn layout is quirky with a large communal sleeping area with four-poster and Tudor box beds, three private rooms, oak banquet tables, a giant woodburner, a huge kitchen and modern bathrooms.

Keep your carbon footprint down - borrow our 20 road bikes to explore the peaceful Wool Town villages of Lavenham, Long Melford and Kersey - and beyond is Constable Country. Play tennis, paint, or boat down the River Stour. Discover our wildflower meadows, woodland and ponds full of newts, explore our castle earthworks and small farm museum.

Prices vary from midweek bookings (from £30pppn) to weekend booking (from £100pp) but please ask for a quote giving as much detail as possible of the group size, group type (mixed age families, adults only etc.), the occasion and preferred dates.
